Marjorie A. Sparbel, 70, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Genesis West, Davenport. Services in celebration of her life will be held at 10 AM Thursday, October 31st, at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 6021 Northwest Blvd., Davenport, with Rev. Kurt Larson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 PM Wednesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to risen Christ Lutheran Church, Davenport Lutheran Home or Ridgecrest Nursing Scholarship.

Mrs. Sparbel was born in 1943 in Macon County, Missouri to Jesse and Alida Baker. She married Kenneth L. Sparbel, Sr. on October 10, 1964 in Colona, Illinois. She was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church, A.A.L. and the American Quilters' Society. In addition to quilting, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, craft shows, bookkeeping and especially time with her family. Marjorie has always put the needs of others before her own.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; sons, Timothy (Jessica) Sparbel of Lakeland, Florida, David W. Sparbel of Canton, Ohio, Aaron L. (Shaina) Sparbel of Davenport, IA and Glenn (Liz) Sparbel of Moline, IL; eight grandchildren; and sister, Henrietta Carley of CA.
