Kathryn A. Olson, 75, of Davenport, IA, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services in celebration of her life will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 2nd at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Kathryn was born October 29, 1941 in Moline, IL to Basil and Elna Carpenter. She was a graduate of Moline High School and then A.I.C. Business College, Davenport, where she then worked following her graduation. She was very creative and enjoyed working on crafts and exhibiting them at craft shows with her sister. She was a Christian and believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred “Ted”; her sons Todd (Amy) Guerrero of LeClaire, Iowa, Jay (Julie) Guerrero of Castalia, Ohio, and Kevin Guerrero of Woodstock, Georgia; Ted’s children, Sandy (Tom) Bingaman of Greenfield, IA, Steve (Bobbi) Olson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Terri (Gary) Kosman of Davenport, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Maurice Frank (Linda) Carpenter of Buena Vista, Colorado, Marjorie (Barry) Bisschop of Taylor Ridge, Illinois and Lois Jeanne (John) West of Riverview, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a daughter, Kim Riedesel and siblings, Dorothy Stewart, Betty Cook, David Carpenter and Cheryl Kay Carpenter as an infant.

A special thanks to the staff of Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Anita Zemba-Schadt of Concierge Care, for making her final days comfortable.
