Roland Oetzmann, 96, of Eldridge, IA, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Clarissa C . Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 18th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, where his family will greet friends from 9:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church of Eldridge, Genesis Regional Rehab, or to the Ronald McDonald House

Mr. Oetzmann was born on September 25, 1920 in Scott County, Iowa to Emil and Reada Oetzmann. He married Velma Knutsen on January 17, 1945 in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death November 27, 2014. Together they farmed for 31 years (1945-1976). He was employed at House Feed and Seed for six years, and also worked for the City of Eldridge for 2 years. He was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church, a member of Farm Bureau and bowled for over 60 years.

Survivors include daughters Sheryl (Charles) Saddoris of Surprise, AZ, Marcia (Karl) Donaubauer and Mary Jo (Rex) McVey, both of Eldridge, IA; grandchildren Stacey (Harold) Hansen of Sterling, IL, Michael (Jennifer) Saddoris of Chicago, IL, Melanie (Robert) Smetters of Cary, IL, Sally (Stephen) Pesanti of Pittsburg, PA, Chad (Jennifer) Donaubauer of Chicago, IL, Scott (Brooke) Donaubauer of Chicago, IL, Jennilee (Michael) Silvis of Dubuque, IA, Abbie (Robert) Gillespie of Davenport, IA and Jacob (Kendra) McVey of Eldridge, IA; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Velma, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Kay Oetzmann, granddaughter Jana
Donaubauer, his parents, sisters Alice Goettsch and Edna Tank, and brothers Clarence, Lloyd and Alvin Oetzmann.
