Shari Leigh (Seylar) Boehnke, 52, of Tularosa, New Mexico, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center, Alamogordo, New Mexico. Services in celebration of her life will be
10:30 am Saturday, March 25th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport with Pastor Tony Liston officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 am until time of service. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Animal Shelter.

Shari was born in 1964 in Davenport, Iowa to Frederick and Judith Seylar. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1982 and attended Adventure Christian Community Church, Davenport. Prior to her move to New Mexico, she had been the manager of Waterfront Deli, Bettendorf and then co-owner of the former Quizno’s Davenport. Among her varied interests were cooking, music, watching movies (especially Westerns), playing cards, animals, Springtime with all the beautiful flowers, and most recently the mountains of New Mexico.

Survivors include her son Beau Brockhage and his companion Brittany Baker and her daughter Mariah of Moline, IL; daughter Katie Boehnke of Garner, IA; granddaughter Milana; her parents Fred and Judy Seylar of Davenport; brothers Fred L. (Kelly) Seylar of Gilbert, AZ and Rob K. Seylar of Friendswood, TX; sister Amy A. (Dave) Pierotti of The Woodlands, TX; nieces and nephews Alicia, Tyler, Ali, Sarah and Sam; and special friend Joel Walker. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
