Mother Helen Marie Frison, 79, of Davenport, Iowa, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 17, 2017 at Genesis West, Davenport. Visitation for Mother Helen will be held from 5-8:00 pm Friday, April 21st at Mt. Sinai Christian Fellowship Church, 4706 NW Blvd., Davenport. In honor of her distinguished and long evangelist career, her Going Home Celebration will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 22nd at Gospel Mission Temple, 5074 North Pine St., Davenport. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, on Monday, April 24th. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting Mother Helen’s family with arrangements.

Mother Helen was born in 1937 in Portageville, Missouri to B. B. and Luetta Gillespie. She married Rev. William Henry Frison on October 13, 1956 in Kennett, Missouri. He preceded her in death December 30, 1993. A well known Evangelist and singer, she was a District Missionary Evangelist and State Minister of Music, both in Missouri and then Iowa. She was the first to integrate Kennett High School in Missouri. Mother Helen loved her church family, helping the homeless, and served as a mentor to many.

Survivors include her daughters Sheila (Marvin) Marshall and Kimberly Frison, both of Davenport; son William H. Frison Jr (fiancee’ LaShawn Young) of Milan, IL; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Gene (Mary) Minnis of Davenport; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 17 brothers and sisters.
