Ronald L. “Ron” Berrie Sr., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Ron’s family asks that friends join the family at 6:00 pm Friday at Hidden Hills Golf Course for a time of shared remembrances. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.

Ron was born in 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Earl and Viola Berrie. He graduated from Salem (IA) High School. On June 13, 1959 he married Marjorie Epperly at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She preceded him in death March 9, 2007. Ron worked for Roadway for 12 years and then for Case, retiring as Supervisor after 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf and watching Westerns but most of all, he loved watching all the kids sporting events.

Survivors include his sons Ronald L. (Susan) Berrie Jr. and Rodney l. Berrie, both of Davenport, and Robert L. (Theresa) Berrie of Ridgeway, WI; grandchildren Drew (Kristin), Brittany, Brody, and Nathen Berrie, all of Davenport; great-grandchildren Carter, Gracie and Madison; and sister Sharon Kay Berrie of Cedar Rapids, IA. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
