L. Charlotte Riley, 89, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services in celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 27th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.

Mrs. Riley was born in1927 in Columbus City, Iowa to Hysle and Ruth Teel. On July 2, 1955 she married John Riley in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death in October of 1996. She worked for Sears Roebuck for 20 years and was a member of AMPS (Area Maintenance Persons). She enjoyed playing Bingo at God’s Waiting Room, Tucson, AZ, and at the Mississippi Valley Fair Grounds, Davenport; sewing, quilting, gardening and working in her yard, traveling, and especially spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children Richard (Vicki) Myers of McCausland, IA, Roger (Penny) Riley of DeWitt, IA, Brian Riley (Jerry Schmitz) of Muscatine, IA, Janet (Terry) Capper of Bettendorf, IA and Barry Riley of Davenport; grandchildren Brandi, Heather, Allan, Jenny, Katlynne, Riley, Nicole, Cory, Chris, Audra, and last but not least Emma; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Ronald Teel of Davenport, IA; and sister Marlys Koralewski of Tucson, AZ. Her special friend Fritz Fuhs and her best friend Hayden also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Darlene Winkler, sisters Beverly, Joyce and Dorothy; sister-in-law Eva; brothers-in-law Al, Bryan and Gene; son-in-law Ken; and best friend Carol Fuhs.
