Wesley C. Arrasmith, 86, of Davenport, passed away July 24, 2017 at Ridgecrest Village. Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 28th at 11:30am. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28th from 10-11am at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. The Davenport American Legion Post 26 will be providing military honors.

Wesley was born on August 17, 1930 to Alva and Edyth Arrasmith in Webster City, Iowa. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. On December 21, 1952 he married the love of his life, Nedra Jane Harris, she passed away in 1982. Wesley loved photography and would often be found taking photos of his children. For a number of years he worked as a bindryman with Bawden Brother’s Printing. He was long time and active member of the First Christian Church in Davenport and active with CASI. One of Wesley’s favorite things to do was listen to music, he was a long time ticket holder with the Quad City Symphony. Wesley taught his children how to play chess, he was a 6th fleet chess champion. He loved everything to do with science, Scientific American was regular reading material in the house. Wesley enjoyed wine tastings with Nedra.

He is survived by his two loving children: Sara (Jeff) Snicker and Mark (Susan) Arrasmith; 5 grandchildren: Michelle (David) Slotter, Maria Taylor, Nathan Arrasmith, Tim Snicker, and Dan (Chandra) Snicker; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Claire Snicker.

Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two daughters: Sandra and Jolene, and a grandson, Matthew.
Memorials may be made to the family.
