Earl Clifford Day, 87, of Princeton, Iowa, went Home to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 10th, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, Sept. 14th at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, where his family will greet friends from 10 am until time of service. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the King's Harvest No Kill Animal Shelter.

Earl was born in 1929 in Rock Island, IL to Clyde and Mildred Day. He married Marjorie Curtis on November 24, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started work at an early age and was accustomed to hard work. He was a mechanic and operated a gas station and towing service, in addition to a used car dealership in Milan and Rock Island. He later worked and retired from Brandt Construction.

Earl was a longtime member of Kaaba Shrine and the Masons (for 60 years) of which he attained 3rd degree. He also enjoyed his Harley motorcycle. Earl never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking with anyone.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie; grandchildren Harrison Day and Olivia Day; step-daughter Christine (Mark) DeWulf; step-sons Barry Curtis and Scott (Fran) Curtis; step-grandchildren Cameron Curtis and Crystal DeWulf; brother Ray (Dolores) Day; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Larry Day, and siblings Virginia, Howard and Maureen.

The Day family would like to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for Earl over the past months, as well as to the staff of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their exceptional care in his last days.
