Russell Lee Lytle, 67, of Davenport, IA, passed away Friday, Sept. 29th, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services in celebration of his life will be held at 10 am Tues., Oct. 3rd at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL where military honors will be presented.

Russell was born in 1949 in Oakland City, IN to Russell and Mildred Lytle. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On December 20, 1969 he married Linda Kay Sparks in Moline, IL. He was an electrician for LaFarge Corp, Buffalo, IA for 41 years and from which he retired. He was a “backyard” mechanic enjoying working on cars, fishing and camping, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Linda; sons Russell (Julia) Lytle of Roland, IA, Kevin (Nikki) Lytle of Buffalo, IA and Kourtney Lytle of Davenport; grandchildren Heidi Lytle, Austin Adams, Jasmine Lytle, Mark Lytle, Emily Lytle and Kaylee Nava; two great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Sherry) Lytle and Danny Lytle, both of Buffalo; as well as his many work friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Carol Grahm and Debbie Lytle.
